Peace & Justice Conversations: Global Common Security

August 29, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Global Common Security – The New Era of Great Power Confrontation and Common Security Alternatives.

We have entered a time of increased tensions between U.S./NATO and both Russia & China. Ukraine and Taiwan are just two examples we see in the news. What can we do instead? Joseph Gerson will explain what Common Security is and what concrete alternatives we have versus increasingly dangerous U.S. policies.

Joseph Gerson is an American peace, justice and disarmament activist. He is president of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security, vice-president of the International Peace Bureau, and co-chair of the Committee for a Sane U.S.-China Policy. He works closely with peace organizations and advocates across the Asia-Pacific and in Europe, as well as in the United States. His books include Empire and the Bomb: How the U.S. Uses Nuclear Weapons to Dominate the World and With Hiroshima Eyes: Atomic War, Nuclear Extortion, and Moral Imagination.

Free & open to the public.  RSVP HERE.

About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future.  There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
