Peace & Justice Conversations: Connecting the Peace and Disability Rights Movements
April 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free
Lisa’s presentation will discuss how intertwined and overlapping the shared struggles are for the Peace and Disability Rights movements. She will lay out an exploration of the following topics: Intersectionality; Violence and Trauma; Resource Allocation; Displacement and Refugees; Universal Human Rights.
Lisa D. Beaudoin is the former Executive Director of ABLE NH where she successfully led a number of legislative and regulatory wins advancing equity for people with disabilities including leading the disability advocacy community’s role in securing an adult dental Medicaid benefit and its funding in NH. Not just a policy wonk, Ms. Beaudoin believes in the credo “nothing about us without us,” fueling her passion to teach community organizing skills. She was the 2021 recipient of the President’s Annual Outstanding Women of NH Award and is the founder of Beaudoin & Associates: Strategies for Disability Equity. Currently, Ms. Beaudoin is writing a book on ableism.
About NHPA’s bi-weekly Zoom Peace & Justice Conversation Series: 2020’s upheavals brought us to a new moment of reckoning and possibility. How do we want to live in the world? What do we value? How can we make the changes we’ve been yearning for? NH Peace Action has been engaged in working for change for decades. We’d like to bring you into these conversations about issues and options for the future. There is no charge to attend, but your contributions in any amount are greatly appreciated.
