Let’s call our representatives to urge them to support a ceasefire, de-escalation of violence, and respect for international law. We will then work on writing Letters to the Editor to further amplify our voices for peace to try to be heard over the calls for retribution.
Steve Varnum will join us with tips on how to write an effective Letter to the Editor or Op-Ed piece. He was a journalist for 25 years, most recently with the Concord Monitor, then brought his expertise to NH nonprofits such as Priorities NH, the NH Community Loan Fund, the Children’s Alliance of NH, and the NH Children’s Advocacy Network.
A recent Data for Progress poll found that 66% of Americans support a ceasefire and de-escalation and yet the US government continues to send military aid and declare unwavering support for Israel’s collective punishment of all Gazans. We must speak up until we get through to our representatives!

While it can feel daunting to advocate for our positions with officials who we often disagree with, we have seen that we can change minds and policy, especially when we coordinate our efforts.
