Be sure to get your registration in (if you didn’t get one, email firstname.lastname@example.org) for this year’s Annual Event featuring Camilo Mejia, one of the first soldiers to refuse to serve in the Iraq war. He served nine months for desertion, a charge which carries the possibility of the death sentence.
This year’s event will be held on October 24 at the Bektash Temple in Concord and will also feature Rachel Vogelzang, a local singer/songwriter who writes wordy, emotional songs that are mostly happy, occasionally angry, and sometimes funny.
We will also be auctioning off this beautiful, handmade quilt made from Irene Irving’s t-shirts by her daughters. There will be silent auction and raffle items too! Doors open at 5 pm for light appetizers, beverages and socializing, sit-down dinner at 5:30. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
