One Million Doors for Peace

National Day of Action: Saturday, September 20th

ImageBe part of one of the most ambitious and innovative anti-war activities to date!

New Hampshire Peace Action, in coalition with local, state and national partners, is gearing up for a national day of outreach to identify and organize New Hampshire's anti-war constituency. On Saturday, September 20 thousands of volunteers in New Hampshire and across the U.S. will knock on a Million Doors for Peace.

Volunteer door-knockers will be asking people to sign an antiwar petition directed to Congress. Our message? End this immoral war, bring our troops home, and invest in America's future. In addition, we will  encourage people to join local anti-war groups and engage in Get out the Vote work.

 Candidate Comparisons

ImageAs the general election nears, voters want to know where candidates stand on issues such as ending the U.S. occupation of Iraq, expanding military spending and eliminating nuclear weapons.  Peace Action has done the research and created Candidate Comparisons for the U.S. Presidential candidates and for the New Hampshire Senate candidates.  We will have comparisons of the Congressional candidates for both NH District 1 and NH District 2 available after the primary.

Peace Action Congressional Scorecard

Image

Check out the Peace Action Congressional Scorecard for the 110th Congress.   Our National Organization compiles a scorecard for all Senators and Representatives based on votes taken during the past session.  You can look up the New Hampshire Senators: Senator Gregg and Senator Sununu as well as our Congressional Representatives: Carol Shea-Porter for District 1 and Paul Hodes for District 2.  The Congressional Scorecard details the highlights and lowlights of the past session with regard to Nuclear Weapons, the US Occupation of Iraqand other issues of concern to Peace Voters such as torture and cluster bombs.  It describes each bill used for the ratings and it gives each member a rating between 0% and 100%.  See how your representatives in Washington DC voted!
