NH Peace Action's 36th Annual Event and Fall Fundraiser

5:00 pm - 8:00 pm @ Bektash Temple - 189 Pembroke Rd, Concord, NH

We are excited this year to present our Keynote Speaker Charmaine White Face.

Featuring a fantastic dinner, action opportunities and keynote speaker Charmaine White Face presenting: “Nuclear Weapons, Militarism and Human Survival.”
Charmaine White Face, a member of the Oceti Sakowin, the Great Sioux Nation, joins us on October 6 to educate and inspire us to take action to protect our communities and reduce threats of radioactive pollution and global nuclear warfare.
Abandoned uranium mines in the Northern Great Plains spread radioactive pollution into the air and waterways of the Region. Rampant militarism and nuclear proliferation threaten humans and the natural environment all along the dangerous nuclear production cycle. In its final and most sinister stage more than 6,800 nuclear weapons stand ready for a war that would destroy all life on earth.
The Sioux nation has resisted threats from the US military and corporate mining interests for more than 150 years to protect their sacred lands and all of Mother Earth. Charmaine White Face has been part of this tradition as the Spokesperson for the Sioux Nation Treaty Council, founder of Defenders of the Black Hills, a writer, teacher and scientist.
Her book, “Indigenous Nations’ Rights in the Balance: An Analysis of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples”, is available at
Confirmed organizations that will table: Coalition for Open Democracy, Veterans For Peace, Concord Chapter of Standing Up for Racial Justice, ACT Disability Rights, 350NH, Nuclear Weapons Working Group, American Friends Service Committee-NH Program, NH Council of Churches and Witness for Peace, Military Spending Committee of Canterbury Citizens for Democracy. Many others are expected to confirm soon.
